Plan B restrictions removed
The Prime Minister has announced that England’s Plan B measures are being lifted as follows:
• the government is no longer advising that people work from home. Employers should therefore discuss returning to the workplace with their staff.
From Thursday 27 January 2022:
• mandatory Covid passports for entering nightclubs and large events will end, although organisations can choose to use the NHS Covid pass if they wish to;
• face masks will no longer be mandated, though people are still advised to wear coverings in enclosed, crowded spaces, particularly when meeting strangers. Also, the wearing of masks on public transport in London will continue as a condition of carriage according to the Mayor of London; and,
• the legal requirement to self-isolate if you test positive for Covid will remain.
